Band History

On a cold winter’s night in 2004, the dream was born. What started as a few friends getting together to play music has become what is now known as High Prairie.

Though we have had several different band names, and band members have come and gone, we continue to use our fellowship of music and humor to entertain.

Our foundation is our Christian faith. To that, we add our diverse musical and cultural backgrounds to produce that High Prairie Sound, a mixture of Bluegrass, Country and Folk.

Our primary venue has been Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church where we are all members. But we have played at other churches, and community activities, including the Monument 4th of July Parade in 2007. Nothing hones your stage presence like pickin’ and grinnin’ on a MOVING 22 foot flatbed trailer!

This year we have greatly expanded our schedule, with a Western Roundup in April, an expanded 4th of July Tribute, and performances at Chautauqua for the 2nd year, and our 3rd Country Christmas show in December! See our ‘Upcoming Events’ page for more information.
